About Us - Auburn Humanities Research Center on AI
Welcome to the Auburn Humanities Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our center, known as ATLAS, is dedicated to exploring the profound societal impacts of AI through a humanities lens. Directed by Dr. Rilett, Dr. Laney, and Dr. Frohlich, ATLAS brings together a diverse team of scholars from 11 Auburn University colleges and units. Our interdisciplinary research focuses on three critical areas: AI's impacts on truth and trust, civil liberties, and social equity and accessibility.
At ATLAS, we are committed to translating our research into practical applications that address social challenges and promote ethical AI development. Our initiatives include collaborative humanities research projects, educational programs, outreach activities, and public engagement events designed to foster AI literacy and ethical awareness. By bridging the gap between humanities and AI, we aim to create a more equitable and resilient society in the face of advancing AI technologies.
Join us as we navigate the complexities of AI and its implications for human culture, history, and society.
